Photo one:
I selected this photo because i felt that it was a striking, image, and also because it is my family gnome that we all love. Compositionally, there is line and shape demonstrated in the image because of the lines of my house in the background of the photo. Also there texture shown in the image shown by the texture of the gnome, especially the beard. To take this photo I had the camera set on a white balance of daylight. the image had a large depth of field.

Photo Two:
This photo was taken for the painting with light assignment.
What I like about this photo is how the lines look and the colors of them.My point of view was straight on and to take the image i walked diagonally across the camera swinging the lights in circular motions. The photo Follows the rule of thirds because there is a bottom of the photo, middle, and top of the photo. The depth of field was large, and the shutter speed was set to 5 seconds and,the ISO was set to 100 and the White Balance was fluorescent. |
Photo Three:
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is texture. There is also pattern seen
in the leaves and in the praying mantis. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the levels in photoshop (not shown in picture bc i didn't use my black and white image). The camera was set to a shallow depth of field, daylight white balance, and the iso was 200. |
Photo Four:
I selected this photo because it was my moms favorite picture. Compositionally, there is line and shape because of the line created by the slide that leads your eyes right up it.
Also there is the rule of thirds in this photo shown by (i will demonstrate). To take this photo i had a large depth of field bc everything is in focus. the shutterspeed and white balance i am unsure of because i took the photo on my iphone. |
Photo Five:
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is the lighting of the portrait. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the levels when i converted it to black and white, and then i used double exposure to merge the original picture of nicole and Ian with this picture of the sun going through the clouds that i took on my phone. The camera was set to a large depth of field, the iso was high probably around 1600, .
This photo communicates/reminds me of/ makes me think of nicole and ian's relationship and how its stormy. |
Photo Six:
I selected this photo because it is a nice picture of nicole. Compositionally, there is shutter speed because the umbrella is moving but she is still. Also there is some great editing
shown by me because of the levels that i adjusted after converting the image to black and white. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/100(shutter speed) |
